Introduction

Swift Fundamental Research & Education Society (SFRE) was conceptualized in the year 2005 with the sole motive of providing excellent education in all the fields targeting especially Health, Medical & Pharmaceuticals.

The Society is promoted by Ind-Swift Group, based in Chandigarh, India, the group who has created its own distinct identity over the years since its inception in 1984, when three visionaries Jain, Mehtas & Munjals dedicated themselves to work for humanity's quest for longer, happier and healthier lives. With the modest beginning in 1984, with dedicated approach by one and all, passing through all ups & downs in last 25 years; today Ind-Swift is proud to be the second largest group of north India with multi-dimensional diversifications in API, Finished Dosage form, Infrastructure Development, Publications, State of the Art Packaging, Stationary and recent foray in the field of Education.
Area of operation: Starting with North India as the area of operation of the society spreading education throughout the country.

Infrastructure:
Swift School of Pharmacy possesses a State of the art infrastructure integrated with labs, class rooms, library, student centre, hostel, medical facilities, academic, administrative blocks and other amenities with exclusively widespread outdoor and indoor area.

Classrooms:
The multi media class and syndicate rooms are spacious with central air conditioning. These are equipped with Overhead LCD projectors, Public Address System, Internet facility, CCTV, and laptop power supply. The syndicate rooms are meant for discussions amongst groups.

Library:
The library has rich collections of printed as well as electronic resources, which include books, journals, database, audiovisual material, CD's e-journals, annual reports of top companies, case studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc. It provides 24x7 services to its academic community, with a wide variety of knowledge resources, to support the teaching research and consultancy.

Electronic Library, Online Journals & Database:
The e-library provides a single-window access to all the electronic resources subscribed to by the Library. The e-library is accessible across the campus.

Hostels:
There will be separate hostels for boys and girls, with provision of 24 hours wireless internet connectivity and providing a professional ambience for work. All the floors are going to be fully equipped with water coolers, internet access points, and telephone facilities. There is a centrally located dining hall, which has easy access from all blocks. The hostel mess is managed by the student’s body, with the help of a advisory body of the institute. Besides these facilities, there is a T.V. Lounge, a gymnasium, a recreation room and facilities for indoor games.

Auditorium:
The institute has an air-conditioned auditorium with sitting capacity of 500 persons. The auditorium plays host to guest lectures, seminars and students events. There is an amphitheatre which hosts various academic and students programmes.

Research and Publications:
The institute has an active research and publication division aimed at creating, disseminating and utilizing knowledge to address the needs of the industry and academia in the field of pharmaceutical education and research. SSP's promoting body has the strong foundation of internationally reputed pharmaceutical company, IND-SWIFT, manufacturing and marketing its Pharma products world wide and has been the consecutive winner of Pharma Pulse Award for two years. Ind-Swift group publishes top ranked pharma journals, 'Pharma Buzz' and 'Trendz'. These journals have high circulation value. They are a choice by the industry, academics and pharma professional across the globe.

Journals:
The SSP processes to bring out a journal named SWIFT Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research. A biannual publication, it will be the meeting ground for the best minds across the world collaborating and sharing their research achievements.

Teaching Methodology:

Lectures, Discussions and Guest Lectures:
Regular lectures by faculty members will be delivered to introduce concepts, techniques and emerging views. Class discussions require high level of preparation and use of interpersonal communication skills. This will be effectively taught to the students. Guest lectures from senior faculty, experts from other esteemed institutions and universities from the field of pharma education would be conducted at SSP campus.

Industrial Training, Visits:
Students are required to undergo a summer Industrial Training with reputed pharmaceutical industry for 4 weeks. The students will also visit various industrial enterprises to get awareness about the latest happenings and interact with professionals and R&D staff there in order to understand the current developments in pharma and healthcare sector.

Case Studies:
Participants devote a considerable portion of their time to intensive analytical study and discussion of real life situations set forth in selective case studies. They are encouraged to consider competing viewpoints to promote interactive and creative learning.
