Russia has invited Indian biotechnology firms to set up joint ventures. A Russian biotechnology delegation, led by Prof Vasilov Raif, President of Russian Society of Biotechnologists, is on a visit to India. The Indian firms have also been invited to participate in the second international biotech summit, Eurasia Bio that gets under way in Moscow in mid-April.
The event will provide Indian companies interested in setting up biotech ventures in Russia an opportunity to know the latest developments and future trends in Russia. It will also provide them an opportunity to sign up with their Russian counterparts to set up joint ventures in Russia. The delegation included senior representatives of Mikrogen, a state-owned biotechnology company of Russia.
